Hana Burianová
UX Designer
Finland
I'm a UX Lead at Visma Aquila, where I focus on human-centered design for the Wilma platform, used by students, teachers, and educational staff across Finland. I lead projects that bridge user needs, business goals, and technical constraints, using methods like continuous discovery, co-creation, and iterative testing. I enjoy designing clear processes, facilitating workshops, and turning insights into actionable strategies. My work spans from product vision to detail-level design, often in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. I care deeply about making digital services more inclusive, transparent, and impactful—especially in the context of education and public-sector tools.
I'm a UX Lead at Visma Aquila, responsible for driving human-centered design in Wilma, Finland’s most widely used communication and administration platform for schools. My role is about much more than design execution—I'm actively shaping how design contributes to strategy, product development, and cross-team collaboration.
I lead projects that combine continuous discovery, research, and co-creation with students, teachers, and educational staff. I enjoy facilitating workshops that bring people together, uncovering user needs, and translating those into meaningful solutions. I believe in working iteratively—testing early, refining often, and always staying connected to the people we’re designing for.
I balance structure with creativity. Whether I’m mapping user journeys, running ideation sessions, or defining MVPs, I aim to create clarity and momentum. I regularly collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, ensuring that design decisions are informed, feasible, and aligned with broader goals.
Beyond individual projects, I’ve helped shape our internal ways of working: I co-created our AI strategy, introduced research tools like Dovetail, mentored designers, and worked to embed design thinking into our everyday routines. I often find myself in the roles of coordinator, shaper, and plant—connecting ideas, keeping things moving, and thinking beyond the obvious.
My motivation comes from seeing our work make a difference in people’s daily lives—especially in schools, where good design can remove barriers and support better learning and collaboration. I'm passionate about building services that are not only functional but meaningful.
