I’m an architect and researcher for multisensory design, dedicated to creating SENSE-able buildings and places that enhance neuroinclusion, health, and wellbeing. I challenge the modern epidemic of "nonsense places"— environments that prioritize sight while neglecting the rich tapestry of sensory experiences that shape human connection to space. My work explores how places should smell, taste, sound, and feel to foster holistic, immersive, and inclusive living experience. I publish a weekly LinkedIn newsletter, The Senses Architect, where I highlight challenges in our buildings and places and propose multisensory design solutions to create healthier, more inclusive, and enriching environments
As The Senses Architect, I design spaces that do more than meet the eye—they heal, inspire, and connect deeply with the human experience. Rooted in the philosophy of Multisensory Experience Design (M.E.D), my work is guided by the belief that architecture should engage all the senses—sight, sound, smell, touch, taste, movement, and emotion—to enhance health, happiness, well-being, and inclusivity. I design buildings that don’t just look good but feel right—spaces that respond to how we live, heal, learn, and connect as sensory beings. Drawing from my unique upbringing in rural Kenya—where I experienced the rich textures, sounds, and smells of natural environments—I bring a deeply personal understanding of how sensory-rich spaces can nourish the human soul. I use this foundation to champion sensory-responsive design in both urban and rural contexts, ensuring that every space I touch offers a layered, immersive experience that resonates with its users. What sets me apart is how I fuse this human-centered design philosophy with advanced technological skills. I am highly proficient in Building Information Modelling (BIM), with expert knowledge of Revit, ArchiCAD, and Lumion. This allows me to translate complex sensory concepts into precise, efficient, and visually rich digital models—bridging emotion and innovation. I use BIM not only to optimize building performance and streamline project delivery but also to simulate multisensory experiences, enabling clients to see, feel, and sense their projects before they’re built. Whether designing healing environments, sensory rooms, learning spaces, or immersive public infrastructure, I offer clients cutting-edge, emotionally intelligent architectural solutions that prioritize people’s inner worlds as much as their external needs. I am here to redefine what it means to design—with all the senses in mind.
